Personality: Friendly, adaptable, action-oriented. Gil is a "Doer" who is focused on immediate results. Living in the here-and-now, he's a risk-taker who lives a fast-paced lifestyle. Impatient with long explanations. Extremely loyal to his peers, but not usually respectful of laws and rules if they get in the way of getting things done. Great people skills.

Gil has an uncanny ability to perceive people's attitudes and motivations. He picks up on little cues which go completely unnoticed by most people, such as facial expressions and stance. Typically a couple of steps ahead of the person they're interacting with and often uses this ability to get what he wants out of a situation.

Rules and laws are more like guidelines for behavior, rather than mandates. When Gileas has decided that something needs to be done, his “do it and get on with it" attitude takes precedence over the rules. However, Gil has his own beliefs of what's right and what's wrong, and will doggedly stick to those principles. Rules typically hold little value to Gil, but his own integrity will not let him under any circumstances do something which he considers wrong.

Gil's intuitive side is very weak. He is impatient with theory, and sees little use for it in his quest to "get things done". Gil will occasionally have strong intuitions which are often way off-base, but sometimes very lucid and positive. Gil always questions his instincts, and is suspicious of other people's intuition as well. Gileas is spontaneous and holds excellent ability to quickly improvise an innovative solution to the problem at hand, but has more trouble dealing with situations that tend to drag on.


Quick Biography: Gil spent most of his life on the dangerous Brettia island being raised as the runt of the litter by a family that had dedicated themselves to protecting the city and one day returning peace to the island. After failing to train under his father as a gladiator, he then chose to pursue the path of a mage, and began an apprenticeship with his mother. Under the training of their mother Gil and his sister were on the path to becoming powerful mages. Things changed when Gil's mother became ill and passed away. His sister left the island to resume her training and Gil decided to become an Herbalist. As the years passed Gil became good friends with the son of a neighboring family, Gil and Muir became close friends. Time passed and his life was simple and happy. One day tragedy struck and most of his family was killed. Only him and two brothers had survived. They decided to leave Brettia now that their home was in ruin. Gil resumed his training to become a powerful healer and enrolled himself into a university in Leune. He graduated early with a degree in Herbalism and healing Magics. He took an internship with a trader in Leune, and eventually became a trade broker. He now finds himself traveling often, carrying out trade ledger's and executing private trades between people and businesses.


Full Biography: Raised on the Island of Brettia, Gil had little experience with the world outside his home. His family is comprised of almost all males, all of whom are big, strong, and remarkably loud. The only two girls in his family were his sister Sylla, the second youngest, and their mother Aranea. The Hower's have a murky reputation on Brettia; They are loud and abrasive, and at times somewhat barbaric, but ever since the attack on the island several years ago they have taken it upon themselves to help protect their home from the wild beasts and slayers that run rampant outside the city. Gil is the youngest, with four older brothers, and a sister.

During his early years Gil was shy and disconnected, afraid that his small stature would prevent him from experiencing the world. As he got older his attitude changed drastically. The charisma of his family was hard to resist and it eventually rubbed off on him. He became more outgoing and curious. He was calmer and much more polite than the rest of his family though and because so, the townsfolk to a liking to him because of his attitude, and he quickly became the favorite.

Gil began training with his father at an early age. Mako Hower, the "Trident King", was a widely renown Dragoon, and his spear techniques were known only to the Hower bloodline. Gil's thin frame proved to be too weak to handle the advanced training necessary to learn the secret techniques. After enough time his father forced him to pass up on his training and pursue a different path in life.

And so Gil decided to train in the arts of magic with his mother and his sister. As they both trained Gil and Sylla became good friends, and were closer to each other than the rest of their family. They learned quickly and became skilled combatants. But before their training was complete his mother became very ill. Bedridden she could no longer teach Gil and his sister any magic, and their training was put on hiatus. They stood by her side for many months but her condition only worsened, and eventually she passed away. The family mourned over her death for some time, but Gileas and Sylla took it the hardest. After some time Sylla began to see her mother's death a sign that she could no longer remain on the island, and that she must venture off into the mainland in order to become a more powerful mage. She tried to convince Gil to go with her, but he declined her offer, stating that he couldn't leave his family. He lost not only a sister, but his best friend that day. After that day Gileas decided he would forget about fighting, and would instead focus on how he could protect his family. He began spending a lot of time studying Herbalism and Healing Magic.

He loved his family , but it was hard to get a long with his brothers sometimes. To ease some stress Gil began sneaking out from his home at night. He would sit near the shore and stare at the midnight sky. He enjoyed the calm of the night, everything felt quiet and still. He would think about his future, and imagine himself as a knowledgeable healer, helping people all over the world. Sometimes he would dream of himself as the swordsman he wanted to be when he was younger; storming into battle alongside his brothers, clad in strong armor, his sword glistening red from the blood of his foes. Sometimes he would think of his mother, and what life would be like if she was still there. He would dream of his sister, what she could be doing , the magic she had learned. Some nights he didn't think about anything, he simply sat and listened to the waves. It was in one of those nights that he met Muir. The reclusive son of the Wilson family.

Gileas had rarely caught glimpses of the Wilson's son. The last time had been quite recently when his brother's scared off Muir by asking too many questions. Just as he was about to return home, he saw the guppy sneak out of his home. Gil reached out to him, sneaking up behind him and surprising him, unintentionally. At first it was hard to talk with him, Muir was unusually shy, something Gileas rarely dealt with. Eventually though the two of them started to talk and quickly became friends.

For some time Gil's life was very easy, a little study, some helping around the town, patching up his brother's after a fight, and occasionally his dad, and when he was done for the day he would spend some time with Muir. It wasn't much, but he was happy with the life he had. One day things changed, as they often do in life. The slayer's attacked suddenly and without warning, his family as always stepped forward to try and defend the city. The fight lasted hours, and a big section of the town was destroyed. The fight was eventually won, but the victory came with a price.

Gil's father Mako, was killed. He had fought off dozens of slayers by himself but in the end he was overpowered and the slayers took his life. Unfortunately the Howers would hardly get the chance to recover from their loss. Not long after the attack another group of Slayers attacked. Their numbers were even greater than before, and the family had to call for reinforcements from the mainland. Eventually, the monsters were pushed back, but not before claiming the lives of Gil's twin brothers.. There were too many words to describe Gil's emotions. Distraught, angry, horrified, hateful, Gil was a mess. He felt completely useless. He thought about why his sister wasn't there to help. He hated himself for not knowing more about healing magic, and most of all he hated himself for being so weak.

His family was in shambles. Together Gil and his oldest brother Falver, decided to leave behind Brettia once and for all, like many before them. The island had taken too much from them, and it was time they stopped letting it. Falver set of for Tyrim leaving Gileas at the city of Reevo all by himself. He took shelter with the local Healer and became even more passionate about discovering the greatest secrets that Healing magic could offer him. He trained under the healer as long as he could, but it wasn't long before the old man no longer had anything to teach. Gil set off to Leune, where he quickly enrolled in school. He had little money but he showed enough potential that the headmaster allowed him to study as long as he would promise to work for the school. It was purely by fate that upon enrolling into the school he was reunited with his old friend Muir.

Gileas studied at the university with a special scholarship. Although he still had to work for the school in order to pay for his housing and living costs. He was often sent out on special missions, to do odd jobs for the school. He became fairly well traveled and learned a lot about the outside world. One day he met up with the luminary Era Kreuz. After she allowed him entry into her private greenery he attained a great understanding for herbalisim and began an apprenticeship with her. Because of this he was able to finish his studies ahead of schedule, and graduate from the university.

In order to travel again, he took a job working for a local brokerage.
